Lipsum.pro is a free placeholder-text generator run by Khaled Shaaban. This page explains what the site collects and what it does not.

The text you generate is not collected

Placeholder text is generated in your browser. It is never sent to a server and never stored. There is no account, and the site does not ask for your name, email address or any other personal detail.

Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics to count how it is used in aggregate: how many people generate text, which script and output format they choose, and roughly how much text they ask for. This is used to decide what to build next. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes a truncated IP address. It does not tell us who you are.

Advertising

The site carries advertising to cover its running costs. Advertising is served by Google AdSense, which may set cookies to measure and, where you have consented, personalise the ads you see. Google's own explanation of how it uses data from sites that use its services is at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

You can turn off personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info/choices.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or the EU, you have the right to access, correct or erase personal data held about you, and to object to processing. Because the site holds no account data, in practice this concerns the analytics and advertising cookies described above, which you can clear or refuse in your browser at any time.

US state privacy rights

If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah or another US state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have the right to know what personal information is collected about you, to have it deleted or corrected, and to opt out of its sale or sharing and of targeted advertising.

This site does not sell personal information in the ordinary sense of the phrase. However, the advertising cookies described above may count as a "sale" or "share" under some of those laws, because information can be passed to advertising partners. You can opt out at any time using the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link shown in the privacy settings on this site, and that choice is passed to Google. Clearing or blocking cookies in your browser has the same practical effect.

Exercising these rights costs nothing and the generator continues to work normally either way.
